Welcome to Australasian Groundwater Conference

On behalf of the Organising Committee we invite you to become part of this years’ Australasian Groundwater Conference (AGC2021). Groundwater is increasingly recognised as a vital global resource, supporting healthy people, economies and environments. AGC2021 will be hosted by the International Association of Hydrogeologists at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 November 2021. The Conference promises to attract a large number of delegates and organisations representing industry, consulting, government and academia, making it the premier groundwater industry conference in the Australasian region. This years’ conference theme is Science, Resilience and Adaptation, topics that have been well and truly at the fore over the past 12 to 18 months. With online and face-to face attendance options we look forward to meeting you at AGC2021!

Yours sincerely,
Sarah Bourke
Conference Chair

Our COVID-19 Plans

The Organising Committee recognises that AGC 2021 is being held in uncertain times due to the global pandemic. For anyone unable to travel, rest assured we are actively preparing contingencies to ensure you will still be able to participate in the Conference.

Here is our plan:

PLAN A – Face to Face conference in Perth.
We know you want to interact with others in person, it has been some time since we have been able to do this. We acknowledge this is when the best conversations happen. Our hope is, case numbers drop in the Eastern states and borders open and we will be welcoming you to Perth this November.
PLAN B – Face to Face conference in Perth plus an online option to present your abstract.
We understand restrictions could well be in place for the minority, whether this be dependent on controlled borders or travel restrictions in place by your employer. Therefore we are working with the Conference Managers to develop the most cost effective online option to enable you to present your abstracts virtually.
PLAN C – AGC 2021 becomes AGC 2022
Our worst case scenario is we postpone AGC 2021 until next year, in which case we will transfer the amazing program that has been developed to the new dates. This means your presentation will simply roll over to the next dates. We can’t make this decision just yet and likely won’t make this decision until September. We are hopeful!
